panic..., will run in the streets..., of Boston, too...
What happens when you look at any/all economies through "distorting" glasses...
You "see" what you want to see, and not necessarily what is.
Take merely one example = Iran.
What everybody knows is that Iran has, next to the Saudis and Ruskies...
the worlds largest remaining supply of crude oil reserves.
But, do you KNOW who is buying that fuel from Iran?
And, do you know that Iran has NO refining capacity at all.
ALL of the gasoline they use - cars, trucks, planes...
must be imported.
So..., where does THAT fuel come from?
And, Iran has some of the lowest prices for retail gasoline in the world.
They do not refine it.
They sell crude, then they buy refined product back, and sell it at a loss.
And, we - you and U.S. - call for "sanctions" against them.
Yet, we - you and U.S. - do absolutely nothing about the fuel problem - theirs and ours.
Incredible, but true.

Market manipulation by "Them" is bad, but when we do it tis not. Oh really?
You, obviously, do not use: the transcontinental railroads, built with Govt money; US ports, built & controlled by Govts; the Interstate Freeway system, built with Govt money; or airlines, with airports build with Govt money and other subsidies. OR, a "centralized" banking system, like VISA debit/credit cards. Or, a "centralized" medical care system like Blue Cross. Or, a "subsidized/centralized" agricultural system for corn, cotton, oil, etc, for U.S. Or, eat any beef, pork or chickens, produce for U.S. by agra-monopolies.
What Japan learned, from U.S. by the way, was that IF they adopted an "industrial policy" they maximized their economic strengths, they could, and would, be able to dominate certain chosen areas - the one's that they wanted to be, and could be, very good at - ie, more efficient.
That is what China has been and IS doing to U.S.
That is what Russia is doing to dig themselves out of the mess they put themselves in - selling there most valuable resources to robber barons didn't work, either; so they have "nationalized" crude oil and natural gas, and are exporting it to Europe in return for a lot of cash.
Oh, and did you NOT notice that "thing" called OPEC? Of course not. But, IF you did, what, precisely, would you call THAT, in Saudi Arabia?
China and Russia are threatening to U.S., now? OMG. But, glad you noticed it.

(Reuters) - The Western multinationals that have dominated global trade for decades are going to have their lunch eaten in China and elsewhere, and many are unaware it's about to happen.
